About Me

Dipl. MLT, MD, MSc in Biomedical Science, FAMH in Clinical Chemistry, and MSc in Internal Medicine. Each designation reflects a milestone in a lifelong pursuit of academic excellence, clinical precision, and intellectual curiosity.

My journey began on the idyllic island of Mauritius, where I was shaped by the island’s natural beauty and a culture that values education. From an early age, I excelled in the sciences, with a particular affinity for chemistry and biology. This academic foundation led me to the University of Mauritius, where I studied laboratory medical sciences with distinction. My fascination with biochemistry soon drew me to the esteemed Faculty of Medicine in Antananarivo, Madagascar, where I expanded my knowledge and training in medicine.

Motivated by a desire for deeper expertise and international experience, I moved to Germany. There, I balanced demanding clinical roles with rigorous academic pursuits, ultimately finding both professional and personal fulfillment in a quiet village near Stuttgart. It was during this time that I also met Emilie, my German wife, whose unwavering support and shared love for nature and travel continue to enrich my life profoundly.

Our path eventually led us to Switzerland—a country synonymous with scientific rigor and clinical excellence. In Zürich, I specialized further in laboratory medicine, receiving advanced training at the Central Laboratory of Zürich and the Cantonal Hospital of Fribourg. These experiences culminated in the prestigious FAMH certification in Clinical Chemistry, awarded by the Swiss Confederation.

Today, I work as a consultant in a multidisciplinary medical team in Zürich, contributing to diagnostic excellence and patient-centered care. Emilie and I divide our time between our peaceful home in Eglisau, a picturesque village along the Rhine, and our second home in Belek, a coastal haven in the Antalya province of Türkiye. Belek offers not only sun and serenity but also world-class golf—one of my greatest personal passions.

Outside of medicine, I am a devoted golfer, a lover of landscapes both wild and cultivated, and an enthusiastic traveler. Whether walking the fairways, exploring ancient cities, or simply enjoying the rhythms of village life, I remain guided by a deep respect for nature, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a quiet joy in the everyday.

My FAMH

The Federation of Swiss Societies for Clinical Chemistry (FAMH) is a prestigious organization dedicated to maintaining high standards of clinical laboratory medicine in Switzerland. FAMH is instrumental in the certification and continuous professional development of specialists in laboratory medicine, ensuring that professionals are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in the field.

The FAMH certification process is rigorous and comprehensive, designed to assess and validate the expertise of candidates in various disciplines of laboratory medicine, including clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. Candidates must demonstrate advanced theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and the ability to apply these in a clinical setting to achieve the FAMH Specialist title.

FAMH also plays a pivotal role in fostering research and innovation in clinical laboratory sciences, promoting best practices, and facilitating collaboration among laboratory professionals, healthcare providers, and academic institutions. By setting and upholding high standards, FAMH ensures that laboratory medicine in Switzerland continues to contribute significantly to accurate diagnostics, effective patient care, and the advancement of medical science.

Professionals holding FAMH certification are recognized for their exceptional competence and are often sought after for their expertise in clinical diagnostics, making significant contributions to both patient outcomes and the broader medical community.
